Cyclones accomplish goals in successful season
Everything the Cyclones men’s cross country team set out to do this season, they accomplished, including having four runners compete at the NJCAA Division II Championship in Richmond, Virginia.
Two runners PR at nationals
Two out of four Cyclones runners earned PRs over the rolling 8K course at the NJCAA Division II Championship at Pole Green Park in Richmond, Virginia.
Second at regionals; four runners headed to nationals
With personal bests and grinding effort, the Cyclones took second place at the NJCAA Region 4 Championship at Lockport High School. Four runners qualified to run at the national tournament next month.

Five in a row! Cyclones men’s cross country earned their fifth straight Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championship after taking first in the 8K event at the Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course in Geneva, IL.
Cyclones are race ready
It was a good day for the Cyclones at the Warrior Invitational at Wisconsin Lutheran College in West Allis, WI. Over the hilly 8K course, the men placed fifth out of eight teams.
Cyclones hold their own at Brissman-Lundeen Invite
In a field of NCAA Division III teams, the Cyclones held their own at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island. The men finished in 11th place and were the only community college at the competition.
Every Cyclone earns PR at Gil Dodds Invite
In one of the largest fields of runners they’ve faced so far this season, every runner on the men’s team set a PR for the 8K at the Gil Dodds Invite at St. James Farm in Warrenville, IL. The team placed 16th out of 18 colleges and universities and was the only community college in the competition.
First 8K full of heat and hills
The heat and hills were obstacles for the Cyclones’ first 8K of the season, but they stuck together for an eighth place finish at the Spartan Classic at the Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course in Geneva, IL.
Cyclones open season at Saints Twilight Invite
The Cyclones opened their season at the Saints Twilight Invite in Channahon, IL, their only 5K event. The men took 10th place among the 11 four- and two-year colleges and universities.
Aiming for a five-peat
With a good mix of new and returning runners, Cyclones cross country is aiming for a fifth consecutive conference title and more qualifiers at nationals.
Largely new team reaps season successes
With only one returning runner, the Cyclones had plenty of unknowns for the 2023 season, yet they captured a fourth consecutive conference title, earned honors and sent two runners to nationals.
