Cyclones run fastest meet of season

In the Cyclones' latest 8K race – the Bradley Pink Classic at Bradley University Newman Golf Course in Peoria – the men ran their fastest meet of the year. They placed 11th out of 18 teams, mostly four-year colleges and universities.

David Olmos crossed the line first for the Cyclones in 26th place out of 185 runners in 26:04. Brandon Armendarez wasn't far behind in 47th place in 26:31. According to Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas, this duo are the fastest in Moraine Valley history.

Jack Kajmowicz was next in 112th place in 28:24 followed by Gavin Hampton in 124th in 28:35. Both runners worked together and each earned a personal best. Ryan O'Connor finished in 144th in 29:55, Thomas Diaz in 154th in 30:54 and Efrain Alvarez in 182nd in 40:27.

"We knew the course was nice and the competition was fast. They did a nice job putting together solid races. Jack and Gavin worked together and PR'd, which will surely help their confidence heading into the postseason. Ryan and Tom continue to put in the work, and we will rely on them for any success we have these next two weeks. Efrain is coming back from injury and made his 8K season debut, which I am proud of him for," Dimizas said. "I know the men are looking forward to these next two weeks. I'm excited to see what they do at conference on our home course."
