Heat and wind can't stop Cyclones

Cyclone men's cross country continued their consistency with another third place finish at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL while sophomore Carlos Galvan was a top 10 finisher.

The heat and wind made things deceptively hard and slowed down nearly everyone on the course. However, the Cyclones took third again behind their same rivals in Heartland and Vincennes University. Galvan was able to medal, crossing the line in eighth place in 29:28. Freshman Adael Jaimes-Sotelo also earned a personal best in this race (32:55, 33rd). Also adding to the team success was Jackson Sima (30:02, 11th), Juan Ramos (31:44, 23rd), Sebastian Szuba (32:02, 24th), Jimmy Duffy (32:17, 27th) and Nick Tsiones (32:42, 31st).

"AJ was able to PR, and I'm proud of him for that. Carlos was able to pull off a top 10 finish and earn a medal, which is always nice to see. Our team's finishing order was different from last time, which is fun for a coach because it shows that anyone can step up on any given day," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "There are two weeks until conference, so we'll be trying to get everyone there healthy and ready to run fast."
