Full Cyclone squad competes at Ranger Open

After a couple of weeks without a competition, the Cyclones were back in action at the Ranger Open in Kenosha, WI. The men placed third among the small field.

This was the first race where all nine Cyclone runners were able to compete. There was a small field with six different teams but only three full squads. Brandon Armendarez led the way again, crossing the line in 17th place out of 52 runners in 28:49. Coming in together after him was Jackson Sima in 23rd place in 30:14 and Thomas Diaz in 24th in 30:17. Juan Ramos wasn't far behind in 26th in 30:22. Gavin Hampton crossed the line in 32nd in 31:21; Jimmy Duffy finished in 34th in 32:10; Ryan O'Connor made his debut in 38th place in 33:15; Scott Beveridge crossed in 39th in 33:28; and Nicholas Cunico followed in 42nd in 33:36.

"Ryan made his debut and performed better than expected, which could be an important piece to the puzzle. There weren't any PRs, but that's a part of cross country – each course will present different challenges," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "Our pack wasn't as tight as I would like it to be, but we now have to focus on our last regular season meet at Bradley, where they'll get one final chance to race well before the championship meet at the end of the month."
