Pieces falling in place

The Cyclones ran all five for the first time this season at the Ranger Open in Kenosha, WI. The women placed third among the small field.

The hilly course was one of the toughest courses the Cyclones will see all season, but that didn't stop the overall effort. Isabelle Vaccaro led the way, finishing in 28th place out of 37 runners in 28:36 just in front of Natalia Wrobel in her debut race in 29th in 28:50. Maria Thurman crossed in 31st in 31:12; Jasmeene Guido was close behind in 32nd in 31:58; and Stephanie Tuscher crossed in 37th in 37:25.

"It was great to finally have all of the women healthy enough to participate. Even though we're not at 100%, we now have a better idea of where we stand as a team," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "Isabelle led the way again and is still getting into race shape. This was Natalia's debut race, and she did a fine job considering how tough of a course this is. Maria has been our mainstay the whole season and continued her consistent performance. Jasmeene and Stephanie are still dealing with some nagging injuries, but they toughed it out. We have less than a month to go until the championship meet, and pieces are starting to fall into place."
