Cyclones reclaim conference crown

It's been seven years since the Cyclones brought home an Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championship…until today. Moraine Valley took a dominating 7-2 victory over the reigning champs from College of Lake County.

Despite a cooler, windy day, the Cyclones focused on the goals they've had all season – winning as much as possible and going to nationals. It wasn't a sweep like their last four matches, and the Lancers forced at least one three-set tiebreaker. The Cyclones were still able to earn enough wins and solidify their spot atop the podium, going undefeated in conference, something they haven't done since 2015.

"The team worked hard for this. It's a nice taste of victory but the team is hungry for more," said Head Coach Matt Marusarz. "Regionals is around the corner, and I know the Cyclones aren't done winning yet."

The Cyclones begin the NJCAA Region IV tournament on their home courts on Oct. 7.
