Dimitri Dimizas joined the coaching staff in 2011 as an assistant after having a stellar career as a Cyclone runner in 2009 and 2010. In 2016 he was promoted to head coach of both the men’s and women’s teams.

As of fall 2022, Dimizas has helped guide 69 Cyclone runners to All-Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference honors, 55 All-NJCAA Region IV Division I berths, two to All-American titles as well as seven women’s conference and three region championships and four men’s conference and one region championship.

He was a co-organizer and participant in the successful effort to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 x 10K relay. One hundred runners from Moraine Valley, including men's basketball Head Coach John Chappetto, and area schools took part on June 25, 2015, at Shepard High School in Palos Heights, to smash the world record by roughly eight hours. The old record was 77 hours, 17 minutes and 25 seconds by the Florida Striders Track Club in 2009. This group ran it in 69 hours, 6 minutes and 52 seconds.

Dimizas competed twice at the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championship. He was an All-Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and All-NJCAA Region IV Division I runner in 2010. He still runs competitively having completed several half-marathons and marathons. He is a graduate of Moraine Valley and Richards High School, where he was an assistant track coach from 2013 to 2017. Dimizas has a USA Track & Field Level I Coaching certification and USA Track & Field Cross Country Specialist certification.
