Cyclones come back to defeat Owls

In their final Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference match of the season, the Cyclones were able to come back to defeat the Oakton College Owls.

This latest matchup with Oakton was no easy win. If the Owls won, they would have bounced the No. 17 ranked Cyclones from second place in conference. But Moraine Valley persevered.

The Cyclones went up 1-0 just before halftime after a contentious first half. After the break, the Owls, who have one of the top scorers in the region, scored two consecutive goals within the first 10 minutes. Moraine Valley continued to push, stop the Owls' offense and scored three unanswered goals for control of the game.

Emmanuel Calixto, Niko Kunz, Fernando Alvarez and Diego Zarate each scored while Yael Diaz collected two assists.

"It was a very good game overall. Oakton was very good and pushed us, but we responded, made some adjustments after they scored and were very strong to get the win on the road," said Head Coach Chris Koloffon.
