Plenty of fight and no luck

Plenty of fight and no luck

The fight was there but the luck wasn't for the Cyclones in their 2-1 loss to Prairie State College.

Moraine Valley pushed hard and attempted a number of close shots that unfortunately continuously hit the post in this game.

The Cyclones dominated in the first half, taking control from the start. Colin Kroll had the Cyclones' best chance for scoring in the 28th minute off a header from a corner kick; however, it hit the post. The first half ended in a 0-0 knot.

Early in the second half, the Pioneers created enough scoring chances off counter attacks to find the back of the net twice. After that, the Cyclones started putting more pressure on finding that first goal. In the 76th minute, Jonathan Vasquez had a free kick that hit the post. Then Moraine Valley secured three corner kicks, each of which hit the post. Finally, Kroll was in the box and earned a penalty kick. Fernando Barragan stepped up to make it 2-1 in the 79th minute. The Cyclones continued to press even harder to find the tying goal, but their luck ran out.
