The sophomores from the 2019 soccer team have plenty to be proud of. They ended the fall season with an overall 16-5 record and went 6-1 in conference for a co-championship. They tallied 64 goals overall and averaged 3.05 goals per game and 15.6 shots per game. Several players earned honors. A number of sophomores are continuing their education and some will continue to play soccer. Head Coach Chris Koloffon has some things to say about those athletes moving on.
Fernando Alvarez
"Fernando is going to study automation engineering at Moraine Valley (and he'll possibly be assistant Coach Alvarez in the fall). Fernando is a joy to be around and was a joy to coach. He will be missed on the field but will find success in whatever he does with the wonderful personality he has."
Omar Barragan
"Omar is attending Benedictine University to play soccer and study finance and marketing. Benedictine is getting an experienced playmaker who can defend very well. He has the ability to easily involve teammates in the play as well as create his own chances. Also, he's a free-kick specialist. Omar can do it all."
Luis Cavada
"Luis will be attending Benedictine University to play soccer and study business and marketing. Luis is the ultimate team player. He never stops working to earn his place but never puts anything before the team."
Shun Tanaka
"Shun is headed to Cornell College in Iowa to play soccer and study business. Shun will fit well in an up and coming program like Cornell. His international experience and polished game on the field will make his transition easy."
Vasili Vouris
"Vasili will attend Benedictine University to play soccer and study sports broadcasting. He will have an instant impact at the Division 3 level with his aggressive defensive game as well as his aerial ability."
