The Cyclones rebounded offensively from a tough weekend in a 2-1 victory over Elgin Community College.
The Spartans struck in the first half to lead the Cyclones 1-0 at halftime. The Cyclones' back line along with Andruw Martinez in goal held the Spartans back and made some key plays to get their team on the board in the second half. Fernando Alvarez and Fernando Barragan, who also provided the assist for Alvarez, each scored to edge out the Spartans. Jonathan Vasquez was tight in midfield, and Michael Strama came off the bench to play a significant number of minutes while Vasili Vouris made an impact at center back.
