2020-21 Sophomore Send-off: Golf

Cyclone golf was able to play a shorten season in the fall, which was the final hurrah for three athletes who are moving on after making solid contributions to the team.

Marty Bennett earned a scholarship to continue playing golf at St Xavier University. He earned All-Conference honors both seasons with the Cyclones.
"Marty was a great teammate and a two-time All-Conference player. He will do very well in the NAIA, which will provide him more opportunities to compete. He will continue to improve. I look forward to some great play from Marty in the future," said Head Coach Matt Lovelace.

Patrick Clifton is transferring to the University of Illinois to complete his degree.
"Patrick was the funny one of the bunch and always had everyone laughing. He was a great golfer and always worked hard to give his all. He will be very successful in whatever he chooses to do in life."

Paul Douglas is continuing his golf career as an assistant pro at Olympia Fields Country Club. He earned All-Conference honors both seasons with the Cyclones.
"Paul is working toward being a head golf pro through the PGA. He is the only Cyclone to ever compete for three seasons thanks to COVID-19. Paul has been a pleasure to have on the team and worked really hard to help the new guys each year. He will be a great golf instructor one day."
