Connor Finn takes 5th overall at Blackberry Oaks

In their third outing of the season at Blackberry Oaks in Bristol, the Cyclones saw some improvements, including in their final team placement and a top five overall finish by a golfer.

Moraine Valley took third place with 343, a mere five strokes behind second place Waubonsee Community College. The collective strokes were slightly higher on this more challenging, tighter course, but that didn't stop freshman Connor Finn from taking fifth among all conference golfers with an 80. Coming in after him was Marty Bennett (84), Paul Douglas (87), Jack McDonald (92), Randy Miller (94) and Patrick Clifton (107).

"Some guys did better, others worse, but we're still making progress, and I'm very happy about that. We were able to gain a little ground in the overall standings," said Head Coach Matt Lovelace. "Connor found some magic and posted his best round of the season by far. He is building confidence with every swing, and I look forward to some great golf from him over the next few weeks."
