The Cyclones had a number of base runners this game, but didn't capitalize on scoring when they needed to. By the top of the seventh, the Cyclones tied the score 6-6 after Robert Kutt (1-for-2) singled, Andrew Phelan (1-for-4, RBI) walked and Alejandro Munoz (2-for-5, 3 RBIs) hit a two-run single. In their next at-bat, the Hawks hit a long ball to recapture the lead.
Down by five in the eighth, the Cyclones attempted a comeback. Caston Norris (1-for-2) and Christian Rosales (1-for-4) singled before Preston Lund (1-for-3 ,RBI) hit an RBI single. Kutt walked and Ryder Johnson hit a hard grounder and reached first on a fielding error to score Rosales. With the bases loaded and no outs, the Cyclones were unable to get anyone else across the plate.
