Big doubleheader split with Chaparrals

Big doubleheader split with Chaparrals

In a doubleheader with College of DuPage, the Cyclones saw two extremes, splitting with the Chaparrals.

GAME ONE
Moraine Valley was all offense in this game, collecting 13 hits to the Chaparrals' one, and winning 11-0.

The big hitters of this game were Alejandro Munoz (2-for-4) and Troy Vosburgh (2-for-3), who collectively earned seven RBIs. Vosburgh had an RBI single in the third and two-run homerun in the fourth while Munoz had two runs score on his single in the fifth. Andrew Phelan (3-for-3, RBI), Preston Lund (1-for-3, 2 RBIs) and Timothy O'Connell (2-for-3, RBI) also contributed.

Xavier Aguilar blanked DuPage at the plate, striking out seven and walking one over five innings.

GAME TWO
The second game was a different story for the Cyclones as they allowed 15 runs in the first two innings and ultimately lost 17-3.

Walks and hitting batters hurt the Cyclones in the first inning followed by big hits from the Chaparrals in the second. Moraine Valley scored all their runs in the fourth inning after Seth McWilliams (1-for-2) singled and Lucas Hicks (1-for-2) and Caston Norris each walked to load the bases. Ryder Johnson (1-for-2) then grounded into a fielder's choice to score McWilliams and get the Cyclones on the board. Nicholas Haran (1-for-2) hit a two-run double before the end of the inning. Other hits in this game came from Jayden Armstrong (1-for-2) and Munoz (1-for-3).
