Four homeruns in loss to Chaparrals

The Cyclones nearly edged out College of DuPage for a split, but came up short.

GAME 1
The first game saw the Cyclones collect six hits in the 13-3 loss.

The Chaparrals scored in the first four innings while Moraine Valley scored all three runs in the fourth. Niko Mastoras (1-for-2, HR, RBI) started the at-bat with a solo homerun to get his team on the board. Nicholas Haran walked and Dimitri Spatharakis (2-for-2, 2B) doubled before Emmet Barry (1-for-2, 2 RBIs) scored them both.

GAME 2
Moraine Valley scored first in this game and tied the Chaparrals in the fifth and seventh innings before DuPage scored the go-ahead in their last at-bat.

Haran started the second inning with a homerun to give his team the 1-0 edge. They added two more in the third when Spatharakis (1-for-4, HR, 2 RBIs) hit a two-run homerun. The lead was short-lived as DuPage tied it in their next at-bat from several hits before they took a 5-3 lead in the fourth.

The Cyclones tied things up in the fifth after Barry (2-for-2, HR, 2 RBIs) doubled in Haran (1-for-3, HR, RBI), who walked. Jayden Armstrong (1-for-3) walked and Augustus White reached on a fielding error, which scored the tying run.

DuPage scored again in the bottom of the sixth to go up 6-5 and Barry tied the score again in the seventh with a homerun. However, it was three consecutive walks in the bottom of the seventh that hurt the Cyclones as the Chaparrals singled in the winning run (7-6
