Big hits in battle with Stormers

In a one-game matchup with Milwaukee Area Technical College, the Cyclones had a big day at the plate, but it wasn't enough to defeat the Stormers.

In the top of the first inning, the Stormers tallied six runs on some solid hits. The Cyclones took one run back in the bottom of the inning after Maxwell Hensler grounded into a fielder's choice to score Jack Hoh (3-for-5) who got on from a walk. In the next inning, Hoh grounded into a fielder's choice to score Ben Cash who got on base from a walk before Jake Lisk and Arnoldo Velazquez were hit by pitches. The Cyclones tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning after Yashion Boswell (2-for-4) singled in Lisk, and Hensler was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

The next few innings saw neither team collect any more runs until the seventh when the Stormers got the score up to 11-4. Moraine Valley added four runs in the eighth off of hard-hit singles from Hoh, Boswell and Gilberto Hernandez. The last inning was a big scoring one for both teams. The Stormers ran six more across the plate while the Cyclones had four. Boswell was walked with the bases loaded then Hensler doubled in Christian Cardenas and Hoh. Danzel Lucas grounded out but scored Boswell. However, that was the last of the Cyclone offense in the 20-12 loss.

Nate Pacetti took the mound for the Cyclones, giving up six earned runs and striking out two. Among the relief pitchers, Ryan McEvoy only allowed three earned runs and struck out five.
