Miller goes yard in battle with Trojans

The Cyclones out hit the Triton College Trojans in their first game of a doubleheader but fell short, dropping both games.

In the first game, Moraine Valley scored first after Danzel Lucas hit a line drive double to score Jack Hoh. The Trojans countered in the second inning with a couple singles to lead 2-1 and added two more runs in later innings to lead 4-1. With two Cyclones on in the sixth inning, Peter Mitchell (3-for-3) doubled in another run, but that was the last of the offense. Moraine Valley had eight hits to the Trojans' seven. Gilberto Hernandez, Maxwell Hensler and Yashion Boswell all had hits for the Cyclones, but it wasn't enough in the 4-2 loss.

The second game saw a stunted Cyclones offense, as they fell 11-1. The Trojans scored in every inning while Moraine Valley earned their lone run on a homerun from William Miller in the third inning. Mitchell (2-for-3) was the only other Cyclone to get any hits this game.
