Big comeback gives Cyclones a split

Big comeback gives Cyclones a split

The Cyclones split two with Milwaukee Area Technical College, including a major comeback in the final inning of the second game.

GAME 1
Although the Cyclones collected eight hits in this game, they still fell 12-6 to the big hitting Stormers. After the third inning, the Cyclones were down 10-2. They tacked on four more runs in the last three innings but ran out of time to do more damage. William Miller was big on offense with a triple and homerun, going 3-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Samuel Rogers earned an RBI as well.

GAME 2
It wasn't until the fourth inning when the Cyclones got on the board, but by that point they were down 7-3. In the bottom of the sixth, Miller (1-for-3) hit a hard single to get on base before Danzel Lucas (1-for-2) crushed a homerun to get two more across the plate. Thomas Carlson (1-for-3) singled then Gavin Quinlan hit a hard grounder and reached first on an error. Anthony Cappelletti was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Brian Funk (1-for-3, RBIs) lined a single to rightfield which scored two to even the score. A wild pitch from the Stormers helped Cappelletti score the go-ahead run from third before the game ended at 8-7 due to darkness.

Ryan McEvoy earned the win, allowing zero runs, striking out two and walking zero. Ryan Grand threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
