10-run fourth aids Cyclone victory

What a difference a day makes. A huge offensive fourth inning catapulted the Cyclones to a 15-4 victory over the visiting Olive-Harvey College Panthers.

This game was a 180 from the Cyclones' scoreless endeavor the day before. The bats woke up and the defense was on point, especially for freshman Samuel Rogers. He rocketed his first collegiate homerun in the second inning, a sacrifice fly in the fourth and threw a few runners out from behind the plate. Winston Hill II also had a long ball for the Cyclones in the third inning.

The Cyclones scored in the first inning, but they blew the game open with a 10-run fourth thanks to triples from Maximus Bullock and Brian Funk, singles by Anthony Cappelletti (2-for-4) and Thomas Carlson, a walk by Robert Warchol, and Rogers' sac fly. Collectively the team had 13 RBIs.

Gavin Quinlan was the winning pitcher, lasting three innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out three. Ryan McEvoy, Jace McWilliams and Jack Riemen all put in solid relief work for the victory.
