After Hernandez singled to score another run in the top of the fifth, Triton answered with one of their own.

In the sixth inning, the Cyclones were up 7-3 before the Trojans tacked on three more runs. By the seventh, the score was tied at seven. It was the two-run homerun in the eighth that dealt Moraine Valley the 9-7 loss despite their 11-hit day.
