Offensive fire dimmed

The Cyclone offensive fire dimmed as they scored only two runs in their pair of losses to the Oakton Community College Owls.

It was a pitcher's duel for the first five innings of game one, as only the Owls scored one in the first off a walk. It wasn't until the sixth inning where the Cyclones allowed six runs to widen the gap. The Cyclones were able to score one in the bottom of the seventh, suffering the 6-1 loss. Andrew Tenison led the Cyclones, going 2-for-3. Brett Renken took the loss, going five and a third innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out five.

The Cyclones were not outmatched in the second game, but struggled at the plate while the Owls couldn't stop hitting. The Owls scored in each inning while the Cyclones put their lone run on the board in the third. Scott Richards, Stephen Insley, Maximus Bullock, Anthony Cappelletti and Thomas Carlson each managed one hit in the 16-1 loss. Daniel Rosado took the loss for Moraine Valley. The righty surrendered four runs on one hit over two-thirds of an inning.
