A few runs short

The Cyclones had the hits but couldn't string together enough runs to surpass Madison Area Technical College in their doubleheader.

In the 6-2 loss, Moraine Valley got on the board in the fifth inning and held the Stormers scoreless in four out of six innings. Gerald Powell (double), Stephen Insley, William Curtis and Jake Peterka each collected one hit in the effort while Kyel Alexander and Nate Villagomez each earned an RBI. Jeremy Urdiales took the loss on the pitchers' mound.

The Cyclones fell behind in the second inning, 3-0, and didn't get on the board until the fifth when Peterka hit a sac fly. Gilbert Jaime-Baez, Niles Gall (double) and Insley had a hit in the effort, but they lost 6-1. Christopher Martinez took the loss, surrendering three runs on four hits over three innings and striking out two.
