Good things come to those who wait.

It may have taken a year to get to this point, but the Cyclones defeated the team that bested them for the 2018 conference championship, Waubonsee Community College, to bring home the coveted crown.

The Cyclones took down the Chiefs in three (25-13, 25-12, 25-19) tonight for the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championship, avenging their narrow loss last year. This time around, they were focused and dominated the court. The last time the Cyclones earned the Skyway crown was in 2013.

Lauren Gausselin had 18 digs, Abbigail Fletcher finished with nine kills and 15 digs, and Brianna Knezz collected eight kills and three blocks. Amanda Bulow amassed 11 digs while Taylor Bulow had 14 assists for the night.

"We played very cohesively. Everyone came in with the same goal—minimized unforced errors, stayed consistent/steady and gave 100% effort. That's exactly what we did. The energy was high from point one, set one to point 25, set three. The entire team was zoned in and contributed," said Head Coach Lauren Lorenz.
