With an Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championship on the line, the mostly freshmen volleyball team struggled last night to hang on to their win streak, battling through a four-set loss.
The Cyclones fell to rival Waubonsee Community College: 18-25, 24-26, 25-23, 20-25. In their last 10 matches alone, the Cyclones have finished off their opponents in three sets. The pressure of a big victory and uncommon mistakes, however, affected the outcome against a tough Chiefs squad that they hadn't seen yet this season. Amanda Bulow finished the night with 15 kills while Elizabeth Coffey had four kills and six blocks. Lauren Gausselin had 33 digs and Taylor Bulow strung together 28 assists.
