When the Cyclones are on, they're on. And they came together at the right moment to give Joliet Junior College their first loss of the season in a shutout.
Not only were the Wolves 11-0 on the season, they also were nationally ranked and had allowed just six goals. Minutes into the first half, Taylor London had a breakaway and found the net to give the Cyclones a 1-0 lead — the first time the Wolves were down all year. Camila Barragan then scored on a corner kick in the second half to go up 2-0. Meanwhile, the Cyclones defense was solid, and the midfielders were unstoppable.
"Briana Gomez and Heather Canny played unreal. Our defense was like a brick wall," said Head Coach Javier Roman. "Joliet has never been down before they faced us. They were good, but we were better. We have an amazing group of athletes."
