The Cyclones took control early in their matchup with conference rival College of Lake County, winning 3-1 on their home field.
Within the first three minutes of the game, a pass from Taylor London to Heather Canny resulted in an early 1-0 lead. Less than 12 minutes before the half, Hala Othman sliced the ball to the left corner to go up 2-0. London added the final nail in the coffin, beating out the Lancers keeper to dribble in the third goal before halftime.
The defense was on par, holding the Lancers' offense until the 25th minute of the second half when they finally scored. Lacey Chapan, Olivia Oblazny, Alessandra Lagunas and Josie Ayala kept the back line tight and helped keeper Daisy Noemi Campos, who had six saves.
