All shook up

The Cyclones were shook up. In uncharacteristic fashion, they were shut out in a regular season game, falling 3-0 to Elgin Community College.

It just wasn't Moraine Valley's day. In fact, it's been four years since the Cyclones lost a conference game. This time they were simply outplayed and outworked. The Spartans scored in the first half and netted two more after halftime. Being down a few players, the Cyclones struggled to get the offense moving and were shut down.

"Today was an extremely disappointing effort. There are a lot of excuses that can be made, but at the end of the day they were the better team today. Complaining and overreacting about this loss isn't going to change it or make us better," said Head Coach Al Palar. "We still have plenty of games left. We have to learn from this one and be better. Everything is still there to play for and still there for us to win."
