In big victory, Schaar earns hat trick to become region leader

In their first of three away games in five days with a smaller lineup, the Cyclones were able to outscore Kishwaukee College 8-1.

After a long drive, they went into this game with only 12 healthy players and lack of their starting goalie because of a red card from Saturday's game. The Cyclones played well but were short o energy in the first half. They allowed one goal, but still led 4-1 at halftime. It took a committee of players to fill in at the net, and the four of them split time to earn the win. Allison Schaar earned another hat trick to earn her 11 goal of the season and become the current region leader in goals, assists and points. Anna Kois, back from a three-game absence due to injury, also scored a hat trick. Xochiquetzal Torres scored her sixth goal of the season, and defender Madi Davis earned her first of the season.

"This is a tough week for us in our schedule with three away games in five days all of which are over an hour drive away. We're battling some injuries and red card suspensions to three key starters, so to start with a comfortable 8-1 win is great. I thought we played well throughout the game, and I'm happy we had some of our goal scorers shine in this one. I know Iris Cruz didn't score, but she was unbelievably good in the middle of the field for us," said Head Coach Al Palar. "We just about finished a third of our season and we are really connecting and playing at a much higher level than our first two to three games. The improvement on the field has been very fun to watch and be a part of."
