Season comes to an end in quarterfinals

The Cyclones ended their season in the NJCAA Region 4 quarterfinals after a tough loss to Prairie State College.

Moraine Valley started out with a 21-12 lead, but two back-to-back three-point shots got the Pioneers to within three at the end of the first quarter. It was a 27-10 run by the Pioneers that gave the Cyclones an eight-point deficit at halftime.

The Pioneers went on another run to expand the lead to start the second half, but the Cyclones went on their own 9-0 run to get within six. However, the Cyclones were unable to stop the Pioneers' offense and soon were down by double digits, ultimately losing 82-69.

Sarah Burton led the effort with 21 points. Robin Stevenson finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Andrea Robertson tallied 18 rebounds, seven points and four blocks.
