Cyclones stay perfect at home

The Cyclones maintained an unblemished record at home after eking past Joliet Junior College for the 67-64 victory.

This was not an easy win. The score was tied at 14 after the first quarter and then the Cyclones' offensive fire went out in the next 10 minutes while the Wolves surged. At halftime, Moraine Valley was down 38-21. In the third quarter, the Cyclones were down by as much as 25 points before mounting a ferocious comeback. It was the fourth quarter that helped the Cyclones get over the hump and score 31 points.

The press gave the Wolves trouble, and Moraine Valley was able to convert on the turnovers. With a minute left in the game, the Cyclones were within three. They found a way to get a four-point lead after a Keyshia Armstrong steal and layup.

Armstrong led the offense with 25 points, five assists and six steals. Her points all came in the second half, which is the second highest in Moraine Valley's records. Deniza Fuentes added 20 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Robin Stevenson had a Moraine Valley record 12 steals.
