Putting up the good fight

Putting up the good fight

In their third meeting of the year, the Cyclones (15-15) had to contend with the No. 1 team in the nation – Morton College (27-0) – in the NJCAA Region IV semifinals. Although the Cyclones put up a good fight, they ended their season with this loss.

The Cyclones were stalled on offense, but Andrea Robertson was a force under the basket, collecting 11 rebounds, 10 of them on defense. They were able to stunt the Panthers offense in the third, only allowing 15 points while scoring 13. It took until the fourth quarter before the Cyclones could put up more points on the board. The Panthers were dominant but the Cyclones were as consistent as they could be, losing the battle 91-51.

Mary Chronopoulou and Jayla Lamb each had nine points for the night. Autumn Jones added eight points and eight rebounds while Janiyah Hilliard grabbed nine boards.
