Cyclones keep Panthers on their toes

Cyclones keep Panthers on their toes

Although the Cyclones (13-14) suffered a tough loss to nationally ranked Morton College (26-0), they kept the Panthers on their toes for a stretch.

From the start of this battle, the Cyclones put on a press, which was effective in frustrating the Panthers' offense throughout the first quarter. They were in striking range, but during the next 10 minutes, Moraine Valley had a stretch without scoring, allowing the Panthers to extend the lead to 49-25 at halftime.

The Cyclones lost some steam in the second half as they couldn't find the basket while the Panthers continued to bank shots. Janiyah Hilliard ended the game with a three-pointer before the buzzer in the 100-57 loss.

This final tally was more than the Cyclones scored against the Panthers the last time they faced each other, and it's also the most points any conference team has scored against them this season.

Reagan Cameron led the fight with 16 points. Hilliard added 14 points while Aubree Schultz sunk seven.
