Edged out in OT

The Cyclones put up a good fight all the way into overtime, but fell just short to South Suburban College 80-76.

At the start, the Bulldogs jumped to a 10-6 lead but the Cyclones stayed within range the entire first quarter. Moraine Valley was able to inch ahead in the second quarter at one point, but then tossed the lead back and forth with the Bulldogs until halftime where they were down 34-32.

In the second half, the Cyclones earned enough buckets for an extended lead, as much as seven points with five minutes left in the game. Some mishaps allowed the Bulldogs to regain a three-point lead until Janiyah Hilliard sunk a three with nine seconds on the clock to tie things at 70, leading to overtime.

Down two points with seven seconds left in overtime, Aubree Schultz grabbed an offensive rebound and found plenty of contact on her shot attempt but wasn't fouled. The Bulldogs, however, had free throws to gain the lead and win at the end.

Schultz led the offense with 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists and six steals. Reagan Cameron added 16 points and five steals. Autumn Jones contributed 15 points and a team high 12 rebounds.
