Winning the first Skyway Conference game of the new year was just the momentum the Cyclones needed. They defeated Elgin Community College 60-58 on the road.

Moraine Valley jumped out to an early lead and was up by 10 points in the first quarter. However, the Spartans fought back to get within four. The Cyclones continued holding a lead until the third quarter when Elgin went ahead by five points. The offense stepped up and went on a 6-0 run to regain the lead. In the fourth quarter, the lead changed hands until the final seconds. Elgin missed a final chance at the buzzer, and the Cyclones were able to hold on to the win.

Aubree Schultz led in scoring with 16 points. Jayla Lamb earned a double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds). Reagan Cameron added 11 points while Andrea Robertson also grabbed 13 rebounds.
