Offense fire out in first loss of 2022

In their first game of the new year, the Cyclones faced a fierce foe in the nationally ranked Morton College Panthers. The Cyclone offense came up short in the 99-43 loss.

The offensive fire was out in this game with the Cyclones going 15-54 from the floor. In the first quarter, Moraine Valley was only down by two (14-12) with three minutes to go. An 11-0 run fueled by several unforced turnovers, however, gave Morton the 25-12 first quarter lead. The next two quarters played out similarly. By the fourth quarter, the Cyclones were able to hold the Panthers to 18 points and equal that on offense, but it wasn't enough to bounce back.

Briana Sanchez led in scoring with 11 points and eight rebounds. Katchie Savic finished with seven points while Taanisa Muhammad and Janiyah Hilliard each had six points.
