Still working through the kinks

Going into their latest game tonight, the Cyclones knew they'd be up against one of their tougher opponents. The Morton College Panthers are ranked No. 13 nationally and rolling on a five-game win streak. Moraine Valley lost 82-51 but are keeping in mind that these games are good preparation for the fall.

The Cyclones were thrown off at the start, struggling with rotations on defense and out of sync offensively, going 5-for-33 in the first half. This left Moraine Valley trailing 45-14. After a few defensive adjustments and better shooting in the third quarter (8-for-16), the Cyclones became more competitive and played an even second half.

"Facing a team that has been playing since August makes a huge difference," said Head Coach Delwyn Jones. "Our team still has only four practices under its belt, but we have talent and will improve."

Chelsea Cross led the effort with 16 points, 13 of which came in the second half. Katchie Savic banked eight while Marty Reeves and Kirsten Kamholz each added seven points.
