Finally back on the court

Finally back on the court

After several delays, the Cyclones were finally able to hit the court and play some ball in their home opener tonight. They faced off against visiting Bryant & Stratton College, losing the first contest in nearly a year 93-77.

Having had only three practices prior to this outing, the Cyclones gave it their all. Moraine Valley was only down by nine at the half. However, an 8-0 run by the Bobcats to start the third quarter hurt the Cyclones, who played an even game for the remaining two quarters.

Sophomore Chelsea Cross led the offense with 23 points, going 6-for-12 from the 3-point line. Newcomer Jenna Ryan added 13 points and seven rebounds in her debut. Freshman Katchie Savic displayed an all-around game with 12 points, seven steals and four rebounds. Returner Marty Reeves led the team with nine rebounds.
