Cyclones comeback against Owls

A loss and a comeback win sum up the Cyclones performance against Oakton College.

GAME ONE
The Cyclones offense was stifled to start, earning just four hits in the 12-2 loss. Marissa Walsh had the best day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Stephanie Lohman (1-for-1) singled to right field in the bottom of the second but a fielding error allowed the Cyclones to earn their first run. Keira Clancy (1-for-3) also had a hit this game.

GAME TWO
The next matchup had some back and forth between the teams with the Cyclones breaking a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh with the go-ahead runs to win it 6-4.

After the Owls tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, it all came down to last bats. With two outs, a string of small ball and singles helped the Cyclones. First, it was Estelle Loth (3-for-4, 2 RBIs), then Marissa Walsh (2-for-4) and Clancy (3-for-4, 3B, RBI) to load the bases. Madelynn Larmon (1-for-3, 2 RBIs) hit the two-run single for the go-ahead before the inning was over. On the mound, Lohman (1-for-3, RBI) forced batters into fly outs to help secure the win.
