
The Cyclones collected 29 runs in their split with Harper College.
GAME ONE
Even with two homeruns and 13 hits, the Cyclones dropped this first game 19-11.
Both teams scored in every inning, and Moraine Valley led after the top of the second inning from a string of singles and then a homerun from Brialynn Mica (2-for-4). In the bottom of the inning, the Hawks hit three homeruns and a few line drives to jump ahead 9-5.
A three-run homerun from Emma Hansen (1-for-3, 3 RBIs) in the third inning got the Cyclones within one of the Hawks. However, some Cyclone fielding errors and walks, along with more line drives, allowed the Hawks to pull away.
Madelynn Larmon (1-for-3, 2 RBIs), Keira Clancy (2-for-4, 2 RBIs), Marissa Walsh (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) and Brooklynn Sedlak (2-for-4, RBI) each collected runs this game.
GAME TWO
The Cyclone bats came alive this game and they shut down the Hawks at the plate in an 18-5 victory.
With Brooklynn Sedlak (4-for-4, 3 RBIs) back in the lineup, her first at-bat in the first inning was a two-run triple. Although the Hawks jumped ahead 3-2 thanks to a string of walks and singles in their first at-bat, that was the last lead they would hold.
Sedlak tripled in her next at-bat and Mica (2-for-3, 3 RBIs) hit a two-run homerun in the five-run second inning. Their hitting barrage continued the next two innings with Keira Clancy (3-for-4, 2 RBIs) collecting one homerun and Estelle Loth (3-for-4, 6 RBIs) hitting two. Annabelle Rush (2-for-3, 2B) also earned an RBI this game.
Anastazie Thoma earned the win onvthe mound, striking out one over five innings.
