The Cyclones started the Skyway vs. Arrowhead Conference Clash with a big win against Sauk Valley Community College.
GAME ONE
It wasn't until the final two innings where the Cyclones knocked in all their runs, but overall they outhit the Skyhawks 19-to-2 for the ultimate 17-0 victory.
For five innings, the Cyclones were only leading 1-0 after Estelle Loth (4-for-5, 3 RBIs) hit an RBI single. Fielding errors from the Skyhawks and big hits from the Cyclones helped run up the score. Alexandra Wolcott (1-for-5, RBI) also kept the Sauk Valley batters at bay with nine strikeouts and two walks over seven innings.
Also contributing to the run count was Stephanie Lohman (4-for-5, 2B, 4 RBIs), Annabelle Rush (2-for-5, 2B, 3 RBIs), Millie Redican (3-for-5, 2 RBIs) and Madelynn Larmon (3-for-5, RBI).
GAME TWO
The Cyclones next game with Highland Community College was a different story as they were shut down at the plate, losing the effort 13-2.
Mustering just five hits this game, both runs came in the second inning after Larmon (1-for-1) got on base after being hit by a pitch before Lohman (2-for-2, 2 RBIs) hit a two-run homerun to take a 2-1 lead. Highland followed that up with an inning where they saw three homeruns before it was all over. Rush also had two hits this game.
