Walsh goes yard in loss to Stormers

It was the tale of two sides of the offense in the Cyclones doubleheader with Milwaukee Area Technical College. In the first, the Cyclones stayed head-to-head with the Stormers but lost that touch in the second game.

GAME 1
After allowing 10 runs in the first inning, the Cyclones clawed back to get within range, falling just short 12-10.

A string of good hits and some Cyclone errors gave the Stormers the 11-0 edge before they could get on the board in the fourth inning. That's when Mya Granados (3-for-4, RBI) started the scoring with a double followed by Brialynn Mica (1-for-4) with a single. When Marissa Walsh (3-for-4, 5 RBIs) came up to bat, Mica stole second and Granados scored on a throwing error to get their first run. A few pitches later with Ruby Amigon up to bat, Mica scored on a wild pitch.

The Cyclones added to their run count the next inning. Megan McClelland (3-for-4, RBI) and Emma Hansen (2-for-4, RBI) each started with singles to get on base. Granados knocked in a run with a long fly ball double to center field. With two outs and two on, Walsh rocked a three-run homerun before the inning was over to cut the Cyclones deficit to 11-6.

The Stormers added one more run in the bottom of the fifth, and the Cyclones answered. In the top of the sixth, Amigon walked, and Cassidy Ostema (1-for-4) singled to get on. McClelland and Hansen each continued their hitting streak with an RBI single. Jolene Anderson walked to load the bases with two outs. Walsh came up to hit a two-run single but Anderson was out headed to second to end the inning. The Cyclones managed two hits the following inning, but weren't able to add any more runs.

GAME 2
This next game was a little quieter for the Cyclones as they mustered just two hits in the 8-0 loss. The Stormers slowly built a lead while shutting down the Moraine Valley offense. Riley Evoy doubled and Hansen walked in the third while Granados had a single in the sixth.
