Stunted at plate

Stunted at plate

It was not the Cyclones' night at the plate. Cyclone hitting was stunted in the two-game loss to South Suburban College.

GAME 1
The Cyclones could only muster three hits in this game from Alexandria Palumbo, Emily Madrigal and Kara Riordan. Arianna Andersen, Brianna Dvorak and Riordan also got on base from walks. It took two innings of the Cyclones holding off the Bulldogs' offense before they started scoring, giving Moraine Valley the 9-0 loss. Emily Koprowski was in the circle, allowing nine runs and striking out one.

GAME 2
The bats had more life in this game, but not until the sixth inning when Abbie Wantroba (1-for-3) and Palumbo (1-for-3) helped a couple teammates cross the plate. By then, they were down 3-2. The Bulldogs grabbed two more runs in the seventh before the final 5-2 loss for Moraine Valley. Riordan and Abigail Koran also hit singles in the effort. Ashley Roberts took the mound, surrendering five runs and striking out one.
