Cyclones rout Panthers in 21-run doubleheader

The Cyclones earned their first shutout of the year, scoring 21 runs in their defeat of Morton College.

GAME 1
Ashley Roberts started the shutout after allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out four. She had help from the offense that steadily scored in the third, fourth and final two innings. The big hitters in this game were Danielle Travis and Brianna Dvorak who each had RBIs in the 9-0 win.

GAME 2
Abigail Koran threw a shutout to lead the Cyclones to a 12-0 victory in the second game. It was a big eight-run third inning that lifted Moraine Valley. Arianna Andersen and Dvorak each singled, Emily Koprowski lined a double and Abbie Wantroba knocked in runs on a triple that inning. The Cyclones scored first on a wild pitch and tacked on three more in the second before the onslaught. Emily Madrigal had a strong outing, going 3-for-3 at the plate.

Koran allowed just three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four.
