Cyclones roughed up in home opener

In the Cyclones' home opener, they fell behind early in their matchups with the visiting Danville Area Community College Jaguars, and couldn't make up enough ground in the doubleheader.

The Cyclones stalled at the plate in the 10-1 loss while the Jaguars scored right away in the first. They continued the scoring barrage throughout the game. Danielle Travis and Emily Manso each had a hit in this game, with Manso scoring the lone run in the third inning. Ashley Roberts took the rubber for the Cyclones, striking out one.

The Cyclones held down the Jaguars in the second game, and remained scoreless themselves until the sixth inning, ultimately falling 6-2. Although the Cyclones allowed a run in each of the first three innings, they kept the game in check. While the Jaguars scored three more in the sixth, the Cyclones added two off of RBIs from Brianna Dvorak and Abbie Wantroba. Alexandria Palumbo (2-for-3, 2B) and Travis (1-for-1, 3B) scored the runs. Abigail Koran started on the mound in this game, striking out six.
