Winning ways

The Cyclones racked up over 20 runs collectively for the third time this season after dominating their doubleheader with College of Lake County. They're now 4-0 in the Skyway Conference.

In the first game, the Cyclones scored in every inning, solidifying the 15-2 victory after a six-run fifth. In that final inning, Brianna Dvorak (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 runs), Abbie Wantroba (1-for-4, 3B), Lexi Udaykee, Zoe Supanich (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) and Alexandria Palumbo each had RBIs. The team collected 12 hits overall. Fran Beggs (3-for-3, 2B, 3 RBIs), Kara Riordan, Dvorak and Supanich had multiple hits. Emily Gorski pitched all five innings allowing two runs on four hits.

The nightcap saw more offensive power as the Cyclones claimed the 9-5 win. The Lancers got on the board to start in the first, but the Cyclones countered to tie it at two. A big four-run third inning helped thanks to a two-run homerun from Danielle Travis (3-for-4, 2B) and two-run single from Beggs (2-for-4). The Cyclones scattered 10 hits with Travis, Beggs and Gorski (2-for-4) securing multiple hits. Ashley Roberts threw from the mound for five innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out one.
