Good fight

Good fight

Always a tough matchup, the Cyclones faced Kankakee Community College and put up a good fight, falling short in the doubleheader 5-1 and 9-2.

The Cyclones got on the board from their first at-bat thanks to a poke from Annabelle Fritz (2-for-2), scoring Madi Davis, who got on with a walk. However, that was the end of the offensive spark. Only Darcee Nichols (2-for-3) and Samantha Stahl (1-for-3) were able to muster additional hits. The Cavaliers only had one big inning as Karly Krown was able to hold this hard-hitting team down from the circle.

In the second game, Angela Abrand gave her team two runs in the sixth after ripping a single to left. Nichols (2-for-3), Fritz (1-for-3, double) and Donna Booe (1-for-2) earned the other hits. Mariah Martinez started on the bump for two innings allowing three hits and one earned run. Liz McCuan came in relief, surrendering three earned runs.
