Cyclones end skid with 22-run rout

The Cyclones ended a five-game skid with a 22-run rout of the visiting Morton College Panthers.

The doubleheader sweep was the first for Moraine Valley this season. Their 10-1 victory went only five innings, where the Cyclones scored every inning played. Among the hitting stars were Morgan Kaminski (3-for-3, RBI), and Karly Krown, Darcee Nichols and Madi Davis who each had two hits and 2 RBIs each. Liz McCuan earned the win off the mound, allowing just two hits while striking out 10.

The hot hitting continued in the 12-2 nightcap. Morgan Moran went 3-for-3 with an RBI while Donna Booe and Davis each had two hits and 2 RBIs. Kaminski smashed two doubles (2-for-4), and Mariah Martinez, who started in the circle and struck out 11, helped the cause with two hits and an RBI. Collectively, the Cyclones stole nine bases including three from Davis and two from Nichols.
