Pitchers lead the way

The Cyclones saw some strong pitching in their split with South Suburban College.

Mariah Martinez pitched a masterful first game tossing a shutout while allowing just four hits, walking one and striking out six in the Cyclones' 2-0 victory. Donna Booe launched a solo homerun, her second bomb of the season, and Annabelle Fritz ripped an RBI double to support the great effort by Martinez.

The bats went cold in the second game, where the Cyclones lost 4-0. Collectively, they could only muster four hits. Samantha Stahl started in the circle allowing four runs, but only one earned, through five innings of work. Moraine Valley's defense had some mishaps in the fifth with two errors leading to three unearned runs.
