Cyclones take fourth at regionals

The Cyclones ended their season at the NJCAA Region 4 Tournament, finishing in fourth place overall, two spots ahead of last season.

With the intense competition they had to face April 26 and 27, Moraine Valley performed as expected at regionals and stayed close in some tough matches.

Leading the way was freshman Jaykumar Patel at No. 4 singles. He took second place overall and had the highest finish among the Cyclones. Lukas Cepronas (No. 1), Dhrumil Prajapati (No. 5) and Ronak Prajapati (No. 6) each took fourth place in singles action while Ixit Prajapati/Patel (No. 2) and D. Prajapati/R. Prajapati (No. 3) took fourth in doubles play. John Kenny (No. 1) and Ixit Prajapati (No. 3) each finished fifth in singles, and Kenny/Cepronas took seventh at No. 1 doubles.

"This is what we were projected to get going into the tournament, and I'm very happy with how my team competed, especially bumping up two places from last year," said Head Coach David Souza.
